Søren Ludvig Tuxen, who collected the boots, wrote in his notes:
“Children kamik boots from Coppermine. Were given to me December 13th by dr. Marie Hammer, who bought them in Coppermine, Canada (N.W.T.) in 1948. Her son Peter has worn them, hence the appearance. They are in one piece, not two as the Greenlandic, therefore no hay in the boots. There is a strap to fasten the boots over the instep. The skin is tanned, yellow.”
