Dromedary saddle – Niger

Africa

So, here we’ve got the dromedary equivalent of “Pimp My Ride” – a dromedary saddle used for festive events!

Dromedarysaddle

The saddle is only to be used by men. The three pointy ends can be used to hold on to, but also work as hangers for different personal belongings – quite practical right? This type of saddle is made by the Tuareg men, however the women contribute with making the leatherwork. This one is painted in typical Tuareg colours: turquoise and bordeaux-red, but was used by Wodaabe nomads.

How do you pimp your ride?
